WHAT’S NEW, WHAT’S HAPPENING & WHERE TO NEXT

Hi everyone,

It has been a few months since we last connected, not because we’ve had nothing to share, more that we simply haven’t had time to share it!

Since the last newsletter, we have rebuilt and launched a new Plastic Collective website and along with it a NEW Plastic Neutral Citizen Program!

If you haven’t visited the website lately,  please go and check it out! While you’re there, check out the Blog and our “Understanding Plastic Series” for some great new resources and updates.

We are building strong collaborations, driving new initiatives on global plastic policy and are continuing to advocate for funding of community projects through grants and corporate partnerships.

Here are a few of the highlights for you below. Thanks for continuing to share in the journey!

The Plastic Collective Team

What’s New?

We have launched our Plastic Neutral Program!

Whether you’re an individual, business, organisation, club, school, association or any group of concerned citizens, you can make an individual or collective pledge to reduce your plastic footprint.

With the holiday season fast approaching, we’d like to take this opportunity to ask our supporters to please be mindful of the footprint you will leave. The ‘After Life’ of products these days is worth a moment of consideration, as when it comes to plastic it can be a big issue.

A majority of plastic gifts these holidays might very well be around for a 1000 years…So whatever you choose to gift someone these holidays, if it’s plastic or plastic packaged, please consider offsetting it with a Plastic Neutral pledge.

Also launching in time for the holidays is our Plastic Neutral Gifting program. If you’d like to give the gift of Plastic Neutral Citizenship to family or friends, submit your interest and we’ll notify you as soon as it’s launched!

What’s Current

Right now Louise Hardman, Founder & CEO, is on the road again continuing her mission to change the way plastic is perceived from waste to valued resource. She is currently attending speaking engagements at conferences and forums in Asia, spreading the message that plastic is a valuable resource and advocating for remote community support to assist them in their fight against the plastic epidemic.

Panel “Take it Back! Bring it Back!: Solutions for illegal trade in plastic waste”. Sea of Solutions conference in Bangkok, an initiative from the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Coordinating Body on the Seas of East Asia (COBSEA)

Where to Next?

This week, Louise and Steve Hardman (Chairman), will be back in Les Village in Bali to provide ongoing community support and training.

The Shruder Workshop in Les Village was made possible by the generous funding of TK Maxx UK. TK Maxx has expressed their continued commitment to support the project as the community builds on this wonderful opportunity they’ve been gifted. We look forward to continue working with them in the New Year.

Can you sponsor a community?  Our Partnership Program connects communities with companies, like TK Maxx, who are committed to supporting practical economic and environmental solutions for a healthier, cleaner world through social responsibility and sustainability goals. A sponsored Shruder program for a community like Les Village, struggling with plastic, will provide the machinery, tools and educational training needed to create real economic opportunity and reduce plastic pollution in remote, disadvantaged regions.
